December 23: Mary’s Reflection
And Mary said, “My soul doth magnify the Lord.”
Luke 1:46 (KJV)
My spirit is filled with joy! My soul magnifies the Lord,
For God has blessed me abundantly now and forevermore.
My heart sings an ancient song with a melody new and sweet,
For God has showered His grace on me. Someone like me.
Keep me quiet. Hush my spirit.
Calm my soul as I drink it in.
My soul magnifies the Lord.
God has looked down on me, infinite in His mercy,
Exalted me from a lowly place to bear the hope of the nations.
The world will remember God’s love, for He has done great things:
He has shown strength for the lowly and mercy on those who fear Him.
The proud have been carried away, lost in their own prideful dreams.
But God has remembered His covenant from the days of old.
The crowns of the earth will bow down. The rich cannot buy salvation,
But those who come hungry will be fed from generation to generation.
Keep me quiet. Hush my spirit.
Calm my soul as I drink it in.
My soul magnifies the Lord.
Thank You, Lord, that Your birth was like no other in history.
