December 15: Come, Worship My Son!
And when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says, “And let all the angels of God worship Him.” Hebrews 1:6 (NASB)
Imagining the humble beginnings of the glorious Son of God enters my mind as I ponder the Almighty Father bringing the Firstborn into the world. The travel-weary, expectant couple settles uncomfortably on filthy straw in a dirty, smelly, dimly-lit stable. Labor begins. What an entrance upon the stage of humanity!
“Come and look!” the happy heavenly Father declares. Smiling from ear to ear, eyes wide-open in awe, He summons His angels. Surrounding the miracle, myriads of heavenly beings gather as the Father’s contagious laugh fills the vast throne room and echoes throughout the heavenly realm. Shoulder to shoulder, the sea of angels lean forward to look, awaiting their Lord’s command.
“Let all the angels of God worship Him!” He shouts. The mighty angelic chorus erupts – joy coursing through every fiber of their beings. The four living creatures attending the Almighty cry, “Holy, Holy, Holy!” The fullness of God’s glory overflows the rim of heaven, and shepherds in a lonely field on a silent night are treated to angelic anthems.
This Christmas, in a quiet, lonely place, look into heaven, and listen carefully. You may hear God laugh and shout, “Come! Look at My Son. Worship Him.”
Father in heaven, awaken our souls and open our hearts to hear Your voice and worship Your Son.
